The sari for me is irreplaceable fashion, nostalgia, India, heritage and drape. And of course, an outfit unlike other outfits. The sari is probably one of the only forms of clothing which can be experimented with in so many different ways. The essence of the sari is its versatility. It always takes me back to my childhood when I used to play with my sister, dress up my dolls and look at my Mom’s wardrobe. It’s been a part of my growing up.
Whether you are going for a formal party, shopping, wedding or simply picking up some formals for office, sarees have turned out to be the chic “in” thing. I always get inspired from the women who wear saree to the work whether it’s in village while farming, while cooking or in the cities while traveling or going for office work. Today’s look and location is the amalgamation of the inspiration I shared above.
I chose a black silk saree, paired it with mustard blouse to add a little contrast to the look and kept my hair sleek with low bun. I styled it with pearl earrings and necklace to make the look chic and elegant. The look is comfortable, yet appear modern and independent, the soothing mustard tone of blouse and multicolor stripes with zari leaf border continues to relay a tradition of femininity.
